Training and process often go hand in hand. When courseware is developed it is often to solve issues related to policy and process. As a professional training experience designer I also have developed skills related to working with policy makers to determine the best course of action and guidance concerning an organizations processes.
When I work with an organization to develop a training solution, I also work with that organization to determine if training is the sole deficiency. Many times over the course of an analysis the client and myself learn that some of the front end policy and process needs more development to meet the needs of a successful training program.

Many of the current training design solutions in aviation are limited to a specialty such as Instructional Design and Analysis using a separate aviation subject matter expert.
Some of the training design solutions are strong aviation subject matter experts with very limited or nil formal instructional design training and skills.
However, I made a decision after flying professionally for over 15 years to formalize my educational background through an Instructional Design and Human Performance Technology Masters Degree enabling me to boast a high skill in aviation as well as training analysis and design. Since that time I have engaged in many projects related to aviation where both my professional aviation experience as well as my training design skills have been honed and refined to meet the needs of aviation organizations.
